THE WELLWAY MOVEMENT METHOD

Not all movement creates progress

The WellWay Movement Method challenges the idea that “something is always better than nothing”. Poor movement quality, improper intensity (too much or too little), and inadequate recovery can reinforce dysfunction and move you away from your goals instead of improving performance.

THE PROBLEM WITH TRADITIONAL TRAINING

Most training programs or sessions ask the wrong questions.

TRADITIONAL TRAINING OFTEN ASKS:

“What workout should you do today?”

THE WELLWAY METHOD ASKS:

“What can your system effectively adapt to today?”

Most fitness programs prioritize volume, intensity, and exhaustion without considering how much stress the body can actually handle that day. Programs and progressions are fixed without taking the individual into consideration.

The result of this approach to exercise and programming can lead to stalled progress, chronic fatigue, injuries, trouble losing weight, increased cravings, and inconsistent performance.

The science behind the method.

Exercise only works if your brain interprets it as safe.

01

Your muscles don’t make the final decision, your brain does

Whether your goal is to burn body fat, get stronger, reduce pain, improve movement quality, or balance your hormones, your nervous system must perceive exercise as safe and beneficial before your body will adapt to your workouts.

02

Proper dosing is crucial

A harder workout is not always a better workout. At WellWay, the intensity of your session is adjusted based on what your body is ready for that day. Your movement specialist is trained to adapt your workout (i.e. more or less reps, higher or lower weights, more or less time under tension) to make sure you always leave feeling better than when you came in.

What you experience in a WellWay 1:1 Training Session

The body does not adapt according to a calendar. It adapts according to the stress it is ready for that day.  There is always a long term plan that guides your training, but using the WellWay Movement method, your credentialed and certified Exercise and Movement Specialist will adjust your training plan in session based on real-time feedback from the individual system in front of them.

01

Readiness and Recovery Assessment

Every session begins by measuring how prepared your system is to train that day using nervous system assessments (grip dynamometry, seated to standing pulse, and vestibular assessment).

This helps determine how much stress your body can efficiently adapt to in that moment — allowing training intensity and volume demands to be matched appropriately.

02

Movement Quality Improvement

Your specialist will guide you through drills to engage your vision, vestibular system and proprioception to prepare you based on your readiness assessment, to ensure maximal outcomes from your workout.

03

Stress Prescription

Your workout is adjusted as needed to give the right dose of volume and intensity based on what your body is ready for that day.
